Colombia imposes 30% tariff on Ecuador
By means of Decree No. 0107, published on February 23, 2026, in the Official Gazette of Colombia Edition 53.408, a 30% ad valorem tariff is imposed on several products coming from and originating in Ecuador. Said Decree enters into force as of February 24, 2026.
The measure was adopted as a reciprocal action against the “security fee” applied by Ecuador to goods imported from Colombia.
Additionally, entry restrictions by land via Ipiales and Puerto Asís are established for specific goods, mainly from the agricultural sector.
The goods subject to this tariff are related to 23 tariff items, including agricultural, industrial, and manufactured products such as rice, fish, bananas, footwear, tires, among others.
