Karla Anabel Barona Villalva is an associate at Robalino. She focuses her practice on Competition Law, driven by her passion for understanding how markets function, their failures, and the commercial dynamics companies implement in their operations.

With a specialization in Competition Law and Economics, Karla has participated in merger control filings before the Ecuadorian competition authority, defense strategies in cases of unfair competition and abuse of market power, as well as the design of preventive commercial strategies and compliance due diligence processes.

Karla is also active in academia, engaging in projects that promote the study and development of competition law and economics. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys athletics and reading, particularly thrillers and biographies.
