Pursuant to the issuance of Executive Decree No. 354, we inform our clients and team of the following:

Suspension of the workday The suspension of the workday has been ordered throughout the national territory, applicable to both the public and private sectors, on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Extension of the national holiday The aforementioned suspension aims to extend the holiday for Labor Day (May 1, 2026), establishing a continuous period of mandatory rest from April 30 to May 3, 2026, inclusive.

Nature of the suspended workday The workday corresponding to April 30, 2026, will not be recoverable; therefore, it does not create a subsequent compensation obligation for either employers or employees.

Provision of essential services During the suspension of the workday, the continuity of essential public services will be guaranteed, including:

  • Drinking water
  • Electric power
  • Health services
  • Fire departments
  • Transportation (air, land, and river)
  • Banking services

Entities and institutions must ensure operational continuity by assigning the minimum necessary personnel.

Authorities in charge of execution The execution of this Decree shall be the responsibility of the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Government, in coordination with the competent entities.
